Dauphin Palliative Care Unit Receives Large Donation
The Dauphin Regional Health Centre’s Palliative Care Unit recently received another substantial boost thanks to a very generous donation from an amazing lady.  Anne Stewart has donated $15,000 to the Dauphin Hospital Foundation, Palliative Care Fund, in memory of her late husband Peter Stewart.
Together, with other generous donors, the Foundation has contributed funds towards completion of the DRHC Palliative Care Redevelopment Project. The remaining goal is to purchase two more specialized beds to complete the next phase of the project.

Souris Health Auxiliary Contributes
It was a long year-plus of fundraising for the Souris Health Auxiliary, but they have finally acquired enough funds to contribute towards the purchase of a portable ultrasound for the Souris Health Centre.  Pictured below are two of the doctors and nursing staff, along with representatives of the Health Auxiliary checking out the new machine.

Noted on a recognition plaque are: Bowsman and District Lions Club, Minitonas and District Lions Club, Swan River Lions Club, Swan Valley Health Facilities Foundation, Lions Foundation of Manitoba & Northwest Ontario, Lions Club International Foundation, Sylvia’s Angels and citizens of the Swan River Valley. Some $300,000 was raised for equipment that was needed for the program.
