Description: |
Duties: Responsible for providing continuing, comprehensive Psychiatric care to inpatients at the Brandon Centre for Adult Psychiatry (CAP) and the Dauphin Regional Health Centre (DRHC) and support to the Community Mental Health services within Prairie Mountain Health. You will be a member of an interdisciplinary team within the Prairie Mountain Health Region. The Psychiatrist will provide admission, examination, assessment, diagnosis, treatment and discharge management of patients requiring psychiatric care at CAP and at the DRHC. Employment Status: This is a salaried position and remuneration is in accordance with the provincial contract. Remuneration starts at $302,549 per year (for a certified specialist) based on 1885 hours of work per year or 260/7.25-hour days of medical services/specialist medical services per annum (inclusive of vacation, statutory holiday and continuing medical education leave days). On call stipends are paid at $525.00/24 hour call. This remuneration is in accordance with the provincial on call specialist; Doc of the Day agreement and is dependent on the volume of call provided annually. Prairie Mountain Health covers an area of 66,201 square kilometers on the southwestern side of the Province of Manitoba with a population of 160,720. The region includes 115 towns and communities including the city of Brandon which is the referral centre for a catchment of nearly 200,000, 14 First Nations communities, and four French language communities. Prairie Mountain Health employs over 8,500 people and operates 22 acute care/transitional facilities and 42 long-term care facilities. There are over 190 primary care physicians and 70 specialists providing medical services in the area. |
