Swan Valley District Lions' clubs held their fund raising ‘Bull-o-rama’ in early October and announced a joint fundraising venture with the Swan Valley Health Facilities Foundation. The result was a cheque for $120-thousand from the Bowsman Lions Club to the Swan Valley Health Centre.
The money will be used for the purchase of central cardiac monitoring equipment for the Swan Valley Health Centre.
The equipment provides the opportunity to monitor patients from a distance, another room or even another floor. It will allow nurses to monitor their patients more closely as they begin to increase their activity in anticipation of discharge. It will allow some cardiac patients to return to their home facility sooner.
Maintenance staff are preparing the site for installation of the new equipment. It’s anticipated implementation of the new equipment will begin in mid-November.
Accepting the cheque from Albert Outhwaite are, from left, Ada Husak, Care Team Manager Swan Valley Health Centre; Cindy Woodson, Care Team Manager for Swan Valley Lodge, Swan Valley PCH/Benito PCH; Michelle Smith, Administrative Assistant at Swan Valley Primary Care Centre; Lee Ann Campbell, Registered Nurse and Dr. Amin Mousavi.
