A new ultra-modern x-ray suite has been constructed and state-of-the-art equipment installed within the Dauphin Regional Health Centre (DRHC). Diagnostic Services Manitoba, Manitoba Health, Seniors and Active Living and Prairie Mountain Health recently unveiled the new x-ray suite after installation of the equipment and staff training were completed August 19, 2016.
The diagnostic enhancements included installation of a new Digital Radiography Unit. The aged equipment was in need of replacement as it was nearing end of life operating capacity.
The replacement unit will now offer significantly improved image quality and reduces the radiation dose to patients. As well, due to the better suite design, patients will have a safer and more comfortable experience getting on and off the x-ray table.
The total project cost, which includes the new digital equipment as well the renovations required within the x-ray suite, was approximately $500-thousand.
